Morgan Stanley launches Global Quality fund
Morgan Stanley Investment Management has launched the Global Quality fund, which aims to invest in companies deemed to have the ability to compound value, maintain competitive advantage, with experienced managers and strong brands.
The primary goal of the fund is to “compound our investors’ assets over time,” said Christian Derold, managing director and portfolio manager of the fund.
The fund’s strategy relies on identifying companies that have resilient top lines, good margins, and that are sustainable across cycles. Understanding long term business strategy is an important part of meeting management of companies. Derold’s approach also requires a valuation of potential assets, to determine whether they justify an investment.
