Morgan Stanley offers defensive bonus plan
Morgan Stanley has announced the launch of a new Defensive Bonus Plan, the latest issue of its Protected Growth Plan, and the fourth tranche of the Morgan Stanley FTSE Booster Plan.
The defensive bonus plan pays out 9% pa, and offers capital protection at maturity as long as the FTSE is not more than 50% below its initial level. All three plans run for six years, with differing kick-outs. All the plans have minimum investments of £3,000.
Nev Godley, vice president of Morgan Stanley said: “We have changed our kick-out plan to offer a defensive element in that the FTSE can fall by up to 10% and still generate an attractive positive return for investors. There is certainly demand for this feature with the FTSE hovering around the 6,000 mark.
“The Booster Plan can also be used defensively, and offers the potential for positive returns from a wide range of market outcomes. Our Protected Growth Plan series has proven popular with more cautious investors since the first launch back in 2003, thanks to its full capital protection at maturity.”
All three plans open for investment on 15 March 2012 and close on 26 April 2012, making them available for ISA investments for both the 2011/12 and 2012/13 tax years.
