Neuberger Berman appoints head of Official Institutions

Neuberger Berman, the US-based employee-controlled asset manager, has appointed Robert Ryan as managing director, Official Institutions.

Ryan, who has more than 25 years’ industry experience, will work to develop Neuberger Berman’s dealings with central banks and sovereign wealth funds.

He will report to Dik van Lomwel, head of EMEA and LatAm and will be based in London.

Ryan joins from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he held various roles including head of EMEA distribution and head of Central Banks and Sovereign Wealth Funds.

Van Lomwel said: “Robert’s tenure and experience working with some of the world’s largest institutions positions him well to build upon our momentum in this important client segment.”

“Neuberger Berman’s multi-asset class platform, which includes strong fixed income capabilities, resonates with official institutions. I look forward to broadening the firm’s client footprint,” Ryan said.
