Neuberger Berman appoints new managing director of global fixed income

Jon Jonsson has been appointed managing director and senior portfolio manager for Global Fixed Income Strategies at Neuberger Berman.

Jonsson joins from JP Morgan Asset Management, where he was head of Global Aggregate Strategies, with responsibility for some $14bn in AUM across relative return, total return and absolute return strategies.

Neuberger Berman makes decisions on country, currency, sector, issue/issuer and interest rates as part of its approach to global fixed income. The manager relies on internal research focused on fundamentals to guide its decision making.

Andrew Johnson, head of Investment Grade Fixed Income at Neuberger Berman, said that the Jonsson would bring considerable benefits of experience to the fixed income team.

Dik van Lomwell, head of EMEA and Latin America for Nemberg Berman, added that Jonsson’s experience would help with client mandates increasingly demanding fixed income portfolios that “cut across the spectrum of the asset class”.
