New head for Europe at Nikko following Asia move

Investment banking executive Charlie Metcalfe (below) has been made the new president for Nikko Asset Management Europe following two senior executive moves at the firm to Asia.

Charlie Metcalfe, who until recently was a non-executive advisor with Auden Capital, has been appointed president of Nikko Asset Management Europe following Charles Beazley’s move to Tokyo.

Beazley will now be responsible for all Nikko’s businesses outside Japan and its Japanese institutional business.

Blair Pickerell meanwhile has recently moved out to Hong Kong, becoming head of that region and global chief marketing officer. He and new hire Metcalfe will report to Beazley.

Metcalfe is a recognised specialist manager of Asian and emerging market investments and has been in investment banking for 23 years.

His previous senior executive roles include CEO at First State Investments, deputy CEO at Hermes Investment Management, and managing director at Merrill Lynch Capital Management in London.
