New hedge fund poaches CEO from Nomura
New hedge fund Occitan Capital Partners has poached Nomura banker John Candillier as its chief executive.
Candillier is Nomura’s European head of distribution, having moved across from Lehman Brothers at the time its European equities business was acquired.
His appointment at Occitan Capital Partners comes ahead of the fund’s official launch in November.
The hedge fund was set up by two former Goldman Sachs senior equity derivatives traders, Herve Gallo and Thomas de Garidel-Thoron, in the summer. It will focus on equities and derivatives in Europe.
