Ortus Capital and Quaesta Capital join Morgan Stanley’s FX Gateway
Hong Kong-based currency manager Ortus Capital Management and Swiss-based currency manager Quaesta Capital have joined Morgan Stanley’s FX Gateway, a multi-manager platform aimed at providing institutional investors access to select currency managers.
Morgan Stanley acts as the FX Prime Broker and distributor for FX Gateway and with the addition of Ortus Capital Management and Quaesta Capital, the number of managers available on the platform totals 12.
Ortus Capital Management, a systematic manager led by Joe Zhou in Hong Kong, currently has in excess of $3bn assets under management.
“Going live on FX Gateway will give the company access to investors who want to invest their assets on an unfunded basis, in smaller allocation sizes or at customized volatility levels. The Ortus program features weekly liquidity,” Morgan Stanley said.
Swiss financial service provider Quaesta Capital will present the first volatility-focused strategy available through FX Gateway.
“Given the low correlation to other managers, the inclusion of Quaesta Capital contributes to the diversity of the managers on the platform and enables investors to select complementary currency strategies available on the platform,” the bank added.
Morgan Stanley’s broader UCITS and managed account offering currently has over $3.7bn in assets under management.
The platform aims to provide institutional investors access to select currency managers, who in turn benefit from a more diversified investor base.
“We believe our long/short FX volatility strategy forms a great addition to the already existing FX manager base of FX Gateway. FX v-Pro is the first strategy with a clear focus on FX volatility trading on the platform. v-Pro does not focus on directional trading ideas, hence provides a perfect addition to a well-diversified investment portfolio,” said Thomas Suter, chief executive at Quaesta Capital.
The following managers are currently available on FX Gateway: AllianceBernstein L.P., The Cambridge Strategy (Asset Management) Limited, C-View Limited, FDO Partners, LLC, GAM International Management Limited, Harmonic Capital Partners LLP, Oppenheim Capital Management GmbH, Ortus Capital Management Limited, P/E Global LLC, QFS Asset Management, L.P., Quaesta Capital Optivest AG, and Rhicon Currency Management Pte Ltd.
