Catella Förmögenhetsförvaltning strengthens Växjö office
Catella Förmögenhetsförvaltning has strengthened its local branch office in Växjo, Sweden, with two new asset managers, Eric Constantien and Christian Åberg.
Constantien was most recently portfolio manager at Bixia AB and has more than 10 years’ experience in financial markets. Among previous positions, he has been a stockbroker with Carnegie and PAN Capital.
Åberg has years of experience in the financial industry. He was recently investment advisor at Sharpio Investment and before that at Nordnet Bank.
Catella Förmögenhetsförvaltning is an independent Swedish asset and wealth manager, and part of the Catella Group with assets under management totalling about SEK34bn (€3.5bn).
HSS hires new regional alternative sector head of sales
HSBC Securities Services (HSS) has appointed Glenn Kennedy as regional head of sales and relationship management, alternatives sector, for the client management group in the Asia Pacific.
Based in Hong Kong, Kennedy will be responsible for driving the development of client relationships in the region with specific responsibility for hedge funds and private equity clients. This sector focus is supported by the recent creation of a global client management group to help the company customise delivery to different client segments.
Kennedy joins HSS from Citi Fund Services (Asia), where he was a director for four years.
RBC Dexia appoints Cormac Sheedy for Middle East & Africa
RBC Dexia Investor Services has appointed Cormac Sheedy as senior executive officer for the Middle East & Africa to lead its business development drive in the region.
He will report to Simon Shapland, managing director of UK, Ireland and the Middle East, and be based in RBC Dexia’s Dubai office.
Sheedy has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services and for the last eight years worked in the United Arab Emirates where he was recently head of sales at SHUAA Capital, a UAE investment bank.
Sheedy launched the Dubai office for Invesco AM in 2003, running their retail and institutional asset management business. He subsequently worked as sales director for the Gulf Cooperation Council region at Fidelity International, overseeing the launch of a number of funds in Saudi Arabia. Before moving to the UAE, Cormac was a business development manager for Bank of Ireland AM.
THEAM hires senior hedge fund experts
THEAM, the BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ subsidiary, has strengthened its alternative management team with the appointment of three senior hedge fund experts. The company has also increased its stake in Innocap, a provider of managed account solutions, from 25% to 50%.
Eric Debonnet will lead a Paris-based team of nine people dedicated to hedge fund solutions. Thierry de Rycke and David Gilleron will be responsible for all hedge fund investments as co-chief investment officers.
THEAM is an investment firm specialised in index, active systematic, guaranteed and alternative management. It offers “à la carte solutions” from bespoke mandates to a full suite of services covering infrastructure, managers‟ selection, hedge fund strategy allocation, risk management and portfolio construction.
THEAM also manages multiple open-ended fund of funds for a total of assets under management of approximately €1bn.
