Pioneer promotes Madar
Pioneer Investments’ head of Western Europe has been promoted with an expansion of his responsibilities
As head of Western Europe, Fabien Madar already covers France, Switzerland and Luxembourg. He will now also head up The Netherlands and the Nordics.
“He will have the overall responsibility for all these regions, including servicing existing clients and acquiring new business across a range of segments and distribution networks,” Pioneer said in a statement.
Madar replaces Jillert Blom, who left the company at the end of April. He will be working with Sander van de Giesen in his role as sales manager for these countries. Sander joined Pioneer Investments in 2008 and will continue to be based in the Pioneer Investments’ office in Amsterdam.
Sandro Pierri, head of distribution, Western Europe and International, said: “Having successfully built our business in Western Europe, Fabien who has a strong institutional background is ideally placed to lead our effort in these countries, which continue to be very important markets for us. I am confident that Fabien’s experience and knowledge will prove very valuable to further grow our business here as well as providing a high level of service to our clients.”
Madar added that Pioneer has started looking for a new country head for The Netherlands and the Nordics. He said: “We have already had a lot of interest from strong candidates interested in this opportunity. We have a number of highly competitive investment strategies – our objective will be to continue to leverage these capabilities and provide superior service to this professional and technically sophisticated client base. ”
Madar, who joined Pioneer Investments in 2008, has more than 20 years’ experience in the investment industry. He joined Pioneer from ING Investment Management, where he was managing director, France. He began his career in 1990 as analyst at La Compagnie Financière Edmond de Rothschild. In 1991, he became portfolio manager at CDC Gestion. He joined Banque Bruxelles Lambert France (now ING Groupe) in 1994 as head of fixed income. In 2000, became managing director, France at ING Investment Management.
