SAM appoints new head of indexes
Zurich-based sustainable investment boutique SAM has appointed Guido Giese as head of indexes.
Giese will oversee the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) family, which SAM manages together with S&P Dow Jones Indices.
He moves over from his position as head of research and development at global index provider STOXX, where he was responsible for developing new index solutions.
In addition to being in charge of product development, he will oversee global sales, licensing, partnerships and client services. He will report directly to Michael Baldinger, chief executive of SAM.
DJSI was launched in 1999, and as such represents the longest-running global sustainability benchmarks. The range currently consists of 60 indices based on those used by asset managers and banks in 15 countries.
