Bank Sarasin, a Swiss private bank specialising in asset management, investment advisory services and investment funds, has appointed Gianluca Grissini as head of its Lugano branch. Fabio Aragona has been appointed his deputy.
Within the Private Banking division, Grissini also takes over country responsibility for the Italian market. He reports directly to Eric G. Sarasin, head of the Private Banking division.
“I am delighted to see Gianluca Grissini in this position. The promotion is an expression of the appreciation for the work Gianluca has done with his team to enhance the Private Banking business at the Lugano branch over recent years,” Eric G. Sarasin said.
In addition to Private Banking, Sarasin’s Lugano branch is heavily involved in business with independent asset managers. This side of the business is managed by Fabio Aragona, who has been appointed Grissini’s deputy.
Grissini started his professional career in 1997 as an analyst at Fineco (BIPOP Bank Group) a brokerage and asset management company based in Milan. There he held a number of positions, latterly as head of the equity team and executive director. In 2001 he moved to the hedge fund Martin Group in Lugano as fund manger. Two years later, he founded Lancelot Capital Management, holding the role of Managing Director.
In 2006 he created 4Ward Consulting in Milan, where he was chief financial officer. A year later he founded a further advisory company named Compendium. In 2008 he moved to Bank Sarasin.
