Schroders opens European equity fund
Schroders has opened a European equity fund in hope of capitalising on large cap growth across the region, with no limit set on sectors and countries it invests in.
The UCITS-III compliant product, Schroder ISF European Equity Focus, is available to both retail and institutional investors.
It will invest in up to 35 stocks across Europe, aiming to tap up the manager’s “best ideas” within Europe.
Asset management giant Schroders anticipates recovery in the region’s core through 2011, despite ongoing peripheral problems.
It is targeting large caps that look set to rebuild strong corporate profits and generate cash following a strict period of deleveraging after the downturn.
Managing the fund is Rory Bateman, Schroders’ head of European Equities, who will be responsible for final stock selection and portfolio construction.
He will be supported by the Schroders’ European equity team.
