SIG picks Danske Capital for best ideas fund
Skandia Investment Group has appointed Danske Capital to run a Eur38 million mandate on its Skandia European Best Ideas fund
Investment manager Henrik Husted-Knudsen of Danske Capital will run the mandate. He joins a number of well-known managers running other mandates on behalf of the fund, such as Crispin Odey of Odey, James Inglis-Jones of Liontrust, Hugh Cuthbert of SVM, Raj Shant of BNY Mellon/Newton, Tobias Klein of First Private, James Buckley of Barings, Terrance Burnham of Acadian, and Damien Laternier of Financiere de l’echiquier.
Skandia European Best Ideas fund manager Lee Freeman-Shor said the appointment was done on the basis of Husted-Knudsen’s stockpicking and alpha generating skills, particularly over the past 15 months, when he ran a ten stock ‘paper portfolio’ on behalf of Shor.
The Skandia fund has outperformed its benchmark MSCI Europe index by about 16% since launch on 10 April 2008, according to figures from Financial Express – a return of 13.4% compared to the index’ return of -2.94%.
