Signia expands alternatives team with hire from AlphaOne Partners
London-based Signia Wealth has made its second senior hire in as many weeks by appointing Ameet Patel as head of alternative investments.
Last week the private wealth manager named Sonjay Phukan as managing director, reporting to Nathalie Dauriac-Stoebe, the firm’s founder and chief executive.
The latest recruitment, of Patel (pictured) will report to chief investment officer Gautam Batra, and will build Signia’s hedge fund investment offering. He was previously a managing director at AlphaOne Partners, fulfilling a similar role investing in hedge funds on behalf of very rich clients.
He also worked for several years as an equity research analyst at Lehman Brothers, and at Hewitt Associates and Watson Wyatt.
Last week Signia announced Phukan would join it, from Barclays Wealth where he was market head for a number of businesses in the EMEA region.
