Alexis Marinof has been appointed head of SPDR ETFs for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in London.
Marinof will report to Mike Karpik, senior managing director and head of EMEA for State Street Global Advisors and Jim Ross, senior managing director and global head of SPDR ETFs.
Previously, Marinof headed the SSgA Dubai office since 2008, overseeing business development and client relationships across the Middle East and Africa. He will transfer to the new role in September.
Karpik said: “We have seen ETF assets grow four-fold since we reestablished our presence in EMEA. We are committed to strengthening our ETF proposition, and Alexis’s appointment supports this strategy. He brings a wealth of experience and is a strong addition to the team.”
SPDR has also announced the appointment of Edwin Mars as senior sales manager, intermediary business with SSgA in Amsterdam. Edwin joined on 1 June and will be focusing on the sales and distribution of SPDR ETFs across the Netherlands.
