Standard Life appoints Zverev head of equities
Standard Life Investments has appointed Mikhail Zverev as head of global equities.
Zverev has 14 years of experience in the industry, having worked for First State Investors and Schroder Salmon Smith Barney (Citigroup) before joining SLI in 2007.
Since July 2010 he has managed the Global Equity Unconstrained fund, which has delivered top quartile performance over one, two and three years according to FE Analytics.
The addition to the team follows a recent return of Wesley McCoy to the global equities team as investment director, after he left the company in 2008 to pursue charity work. He was previously a UK retail and institutional high alpha manager at the firm.
But as the firm builds its equity capabilities, the Global Absolute Return Strategy (GARS) fund suffered a blow last week, as three of its managers left for competitor Invesco Perpetual.
David Millar, Dave Jubb and Richard Batty – all senior investment managers – left to set up a new multi-asset group at rival fund manager.
No replacements have been named yet.
