Threadneedle appoints relationship director
Threadneedle, a London-based international asset manager, has named Moira Gorman as the new Client Relationship Director, with dedicated responsibility for Local Authority clients.
Gorman reports to Andrew Nicoll, global head of client service, and joined the company on 6 June. She will take responsibility for developing Threadneedle’s relationships with Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) clients in the UK, bringing considerable experience in the LGPS sector.
Prior to joining Threadneedle, Gorman was a senior relationship manager at State Street Global Advisers (SSgA) for four years, having previously been a relationship manager at Morley Fund Management (now Aviva Investors). At SSgA Moira was responsible for corporate and Local Authority pension clients and in her time with the company doubled the LGPS client base.
Nicoll said: “This new role reflects the scale and importance of our Local Authority client base and our intention to have an enhanced focus on specialist client sectors. Moira brings with her extensive industry knowledge and a proven track record in forging and developing strong relations with Local Authority clients.
“We believe that Local Authorities will increasingly view equity income as a means of providing income while also maintaining a higher expected rate of return and therefore lower funding gap,” Nicoll said.
