UBS relocates Lugano-based FX sales staff to London

The Swiss bank is moving parts of its FX sales team in Lugano back to London as the head of FX sales for the region leaves the bank.

Stefano Rusconi, head of foreign exchange sales to southern European banks at UBS, and FX saleswoman Roberta Bertoglio Tessaro, have both left the bank. They were based in Lugano, Switzerland and their plans are not yet known.

Bertoglio Tessaro reported directly to Rusconi, while Rusconi reported to Richard Longmore, European head of FX financial institutions sales in London.

UBS is understood to be relocating the part of its FX sales team covering southern Europe from Lugano to London. The office in Lugano is still seen as an important hub, but locating the sales team in London brings it closer to the core FX business.

Andrea Goldinger, another FX salesperson in Lugano, has transferred to Zurich. Other members of the sales team in Lugano are understood to be staying at the bank.

UBS declined to comment on the reorganisation.
