UK multimanager Investment Solutions, which has declared its intention to grow in the UK, has picked Rufus Warner as its new chief executive.

Warner is a City veteran, with senior roles at firms such as Close Investments, Société Générale Asset Management, Morgan Grenfell Asset Management and Fidelity behind him.

He joins from Earth Capital Partners LLP, a company specialising in investment in sustainable development, where he will retain involvement as chairman of the investment committee.

Investment Solutions is part of the Alexander Forbes Group, which at end November 2010 had global assets under management in excess of £15 billion through its subsidiary companies.

Over £1.6 billion of that is managed in the UK.

Grant Stobart, CEO of Alexander Forbes International, said Investment Solutions has carved a niche as a specialist provider of investment products and platform services for small to mid-sized pension schemes.

The UK business is part of one of the larger multi-managers in the world, which has over £15bn of assets under management and over 1,900 retirement and pension clients.

“The time is now right to build on our strong international presence with the appointment of a senior industry figure in the UK to drive our business forward,” said Stobart.
