VTB Capital appoints Atanas Bostandjiev as CEO, UK and international
Atanas Bostandjiev has been appointed CEO, UK and international, at VTB Capital plc, the London-based investment arm of the VTB group.
He will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s strategy in Europe, excluding Russia and the CIS countries, and overseeing the introduction of new products and initiatives to ensure the sustainable growth of the company’s market share, the company said in a statement. He will report to Yuri Soloviev, VTB Capital president.
Prior to joining VTB Capital, Bostandjiev was a partner at Goldman Sachs, where he was responsible for the bank’s emerging market client business in the CEEMEA area. Before that, he held senior sales management positions at Merrill Lynch International in London. He graduated from Washington College in 1997.
Yuri Soloviev, VTB Capital president, said the appointment would help boost VTB Capital’s positions in the international investment banking market.
The London-based company is one of three strategic business arms of the VTB group, along with the corporate and retail businesses, that operate in Moscow, London, Singapore and Dubai.
In London the company provides a full range of investment banking services and is focused on debt financing on the Russian and the international markets, structured products and infrastructure financing. Since its foundation in 2008 it has taken part in more than 140 deals which attracted more than $73bn worth of investments in Russia, the company said.
VTB Capital offers a full range of investment banking products and services, focusing on arranging operations in the debt, equity and global commodities markets, developing private investments, investment management, advising clients on M&A and equity capital markets deals in Russia and internationally.
