Aquila launches new infrastructure strategy

Alternative asset manager Aquila Capital launched a new infrastructure strategy, aimed at offering institutional investors enhanced liquidity in the asset class.

The strategy features a portfolio of direct and fund investments in infrastructure as well as core infrastructure assets such as transport, utilities, waste disposal, communication and energy.

Investments will be made across OECD countries classified as economically and politically stable, with at least 50% of the portfolio allocated within Europe.

The strategy aims to offer enhanced liquidity through a minimum investment period of two years.

Christian Brezina, head of Fund Investments Private Equity & Infrastructure at Aquila comments on the launch: “Direct investments from a preselected pipeline enable us to quickly build a cost-efficient portfolio that will deliver stable cash yields. We intend to pay out dividends to our investors in the first year of operation.”
