Aquila teams up with Czech energy giant

Alternative investment manager Aquila Capital has announced a new partnership with Czech energy firm ČEZ-Group, in order to build a wind energy portfolio in Germany.

According Aquila, the mandate is in the triple digit million euro range. ČEZ-Group is the largest energy company in Central Eastern Europe and ranks among the ten largest energy suppliers in Europe.

Susanne Wermter, Head of Special Investment Team at Aquila Capital, said: “We are pleased to provide our extensive expertise and stringent investment approach in order to support the ČEZ-Group in achieving its strategic objectives in the German market.”

Tomáš Pleskač, Member of the Board of Directors of ČEZ-Group, commented: “Our strategy focuses on renewable energy investments and on the expansion of decentralised energy generation. Investments in the Czech Republic’s neighbouring countries are of particular interest to us and we see great potential in the German market.”
