Eastspring appoints new CEO for Singapore business

Prudential’s Asian investment branch, Eastspring Investments, has appointed Phil Stockwell as chief executive officer of its Singapore business as from 1 September 2016.

He will report to Eastspring Investments chief executive, Guy Strapp and will be responsible for the operations of the Singapore office which, being the largest of Eastspring’s 10 Asia offices, serves as the asset manager’s central investment hub.

Stockwell joined Eastspring in 2014. He succeeds Jackie Chew who has been appointed to a global role within Prudential’s internal audit team.

Stockwell is a member of Eastspring’s executive management committee and currently holds the role of chief operating officer.

Formerly, he was chief operating officer at BT Investment Management in Australia and held consulting roles with McKinsey & Company and KPMG Consulting.

Eastspring Investments had $140.3bn (€124.6bn) in assets under management as at 30 June 2016.
