For GW: Wealth adviser network plans growth in Asia and Africa
Financial advisory group VFS, an international wealth management network, is seeking further growth in Mauritius and Africa with its latest senior appointments.
Joining the firm’s base in Mauritius as managing director is Andre le Roux (pictured above), formerly CEO at The Henley Group in Singapore. In his new role, le Roux will lead day-to-day operations, focusing on sales growth and finding more recruits to its sales team.
Le Roux is a considerable poach for VFS Holdings Limited, part of the VFS Group, as he brings with him Asian expertise from his former employer, which has been in the region for 20 years.
Le Roux has also worked for some large corporate household names, Old Mutual, Nedbank, First National Bank and Commercial Union. He has been a senior manager for 30 years.
At the same time, VFS announced the appointment of Andrew Pletzer, who as general manager will report to Le Roux in Mauritius. He will manage the international risk and life assurance product range.
Pletzer moves from MLP, a financial advisory brokerage, where he was played a part in launching the Scottish office and marketing products to high net worth clients.
He has also worked for Discovery and William Russell, and has been in financial services for over 10 years.
