Janus Capital International Ltd, the international arm of Janus Capital Group, has launched two Asia funds and two Japan funds as part of a sub investment manager arrangement with Diam International, the London based subsidiary of Tokyo headquartered Diam Co.

The funds will be available in the Janus Capital Funds Plc, a Ucits that is incorporated in Ireland.

The new funds are:

  • Janus Japan Fund, an unconstrained Japan equity fund with a flexible approach seeking to generate alpha by investing across all market caps, styles and equity sectors.
  • Janus Japan Emerging Opportunities Fund, a Japanese Small- and Mid-Cap equity fund seeking to invest in the growth drivers of the Japanese economy by providing exposure to emerging and growing companies.
  • Janus Asia Frontier Markets Fund, an All-Cap equity fund for investors seeking actively managed exposure to Asia’s frontier markets, one of the most rapidly developing regions in the world with significant growth potential.
  • Janus Asia Growth Drivers Fund, an equity fund focused on Asian consumer and other sectors driving Asia’s growth. Asia continues to be one of the fastest growing opportunity sets in global equity investing today.

The deal with Diam marks a further use of local asset management expertise by Janus, which already has a strategic partnership in place with Dai-ichi Life.

Augustus Cheh, president of Janus Capital International said the latest deal marked another expansion of Janus outside the US.
