Oddo & Cie appoints CEO of Oddo Hong Kong

Oddo & Cie has appointed Arnaud Barthélémy as chief executive officer of Oddo Hong Kong.

He will contribute to defining and implementing the development strategies of Oddo Group’s various activities in Asia. In his new duties, Barthélémy will be also accompanying French and German companies in Asia and Chinese companies seeking to invest in Europe.

Barthélémy was hitherto Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macao since 2011. Between 2009 and 2011, he worked as investment director for the Fonds Stratégique d’Investissement (FSI).

Formerly, between 2007 and 2009, Barthélémy was advisor in charge of diplomatic affairs to the former French Prime minister François Fillon.

Barthélémy started his career at the Ministry for Foreign affairs, first in the legal department (2000-2002), then as Private secretary of the deputy Minister for European affairs (2002-2003), and subsequently as advisor to the director general of political and security affairs (2003-2005).

He then joined France’s permanent representation at the United Nations headquarters in New York (2005-2007).
“I am delighted to join Oddo & Cie to contribute to promoting the group’s expertise in Hong Kong, mainland China and throughout Asia. The group’s Franco-German dimension was a decisive element in my decision to join Philippe Oddo and his teams given the considerable potential of French and German businesses – notably family-owned– in Asia but also the growing outbound Asian investment flows into continental Europe”, commented Barthélémy.

Oddo & Cie, which has recently acquired Meriten, currently totalls €61bn in assets under management.
