Unigestion names new Asia chairman

Swiss asset manager Unigestion has appointed Edouard Merette as non-executive chairman of the board of Unigestion Asia.

He will based in Singapore and will lead the firm’s strategy for growth in Asia.

Merette replaces Bill Foo, who served as chairman for five years, but who remains a member of the board.

Prior to joining Unigestion, Merette was managing director, Asia Pacific, for the Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec.

He also served seven years as chief executive for Aon Hewitt, Asia Pacific and six years as a member of Mercer’s global executive committee.

Unigestion is established in Asia since 2007 since the opening of its office in Singapore.

The firm manages around $20bn (€18bn).
