Banca March appoints new leadership

The board of directors of Spain’s Banca March has appointed José Luis Acea Rodríguez as its new CEO and it has made further changes to the executive team.

Acea Rodríguez, who previously was the bank’s general director and the director of Corporate Banking, replaces José Nieto de la Cierva, now holding other positions of responsibility within the group, the Spanish bank said.

Meanwhile, Rita Rodríguez Arrojo, former general director of the bank and responsible of the Human Resources and Intangibles department, has been promoted to executive vice-president.

The bank’s management structure has been reorganised with the following appointments: Ángel Martínez Marañón, former director of the External Communication and Quality unit, is now director of the Commercial and Private Banking unit.

José Manuel Arcenegui Linares, former director of the Mergers and Acquisitions department, is now in charge of the Corporate Banking unit.

Francisco Salas Ruíz, former regional director of Wealth Management in Madrid, is now head of Wealth Management; and Anselmo Martín-Peñasco Ciudad, former director of Human Resources Coordination and CSR, is now head of Human Resources.

All these professionals have over 20 years of experience in the financial sector and were already part of Banca March. From now on, they will be part of the bank’s executive committee, the group confirmed.
