Aberdeen appoints Misev as portfolio manager

Aberdeen Asset Management has appointed Alek Misev as portfolio manager.

He will be based in Amsterdam working with Karin Koks, head of Global Mandates – property multi-manager, on existing global mandates as well as launching new products in this field.

He joins from Towers Watson, where he was head of Australian Real Estate & Infrastructure. Over the last two years he was responsible for a $4bn  portfolio in global property and a $2bn global infrastructure portfolio for a number of Australian pension funds.

With a team of three analysts at Towers Watson, Misev was advising institutional investors and executing investments in global unlisted property funds. Previously he also worked for APG, where he managed a portfolio of unlisted real estate investments in Europe and Australia.

“We welcome Alek to our team at Aberdeen Asset Management. He brings with him a wealth of experience on unlisted global property and his knowledge in particular of the Australian property market make him well suited to the role,”Koks said.
