Achmea merges investment activities into Achmea IM

Dutch insurer Achmea has announced the merger of all its investment activities, under the name of Achmea Investment Management (Achmea IM).

The new asset management division includes Syntrus Achmea Asset Management, as well as the newly launched Algemeen Pensioenfonds.

The group announced the launch 0f Achmea IM  as part of the release of its annual results, Achmea IM will now manage €71bn in assets.

Achmea’s net profits in the first half of 2015 increased by €272m, the solvability of its insurance activities increased from 215% to 225% over the past six months.
