AEW Europe appoints head of Belgium & Netherlands

Property manager AEW Europe has appointed Patrick Meutermans as head of Belgium and the Netherlands.

AEW Europe manages €1bn in assets in these markets. The firm bought a portfolio including 50% of Wijnegem and 100% of Waasland’s shopping malls, two of the biggest Belgian shopping malls.

Prior to joining the company, Meutermans was country manager and member of the European Management and Retail Boards at CBRE Global Investors, managing €1.5bn in assets.

Formerly, he held several positions in the real estate management sector at ING Real Estate, Heijmans Vastgoed and Mevo.

AEW group has €44bn in assets under management, including €16.8bn in Europe as at 30 June 2015.
