Alfi adds Chinese to its website – reflects growing ties
Alfi, the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, has added Chinese language pages to its website as it seeks to reflect the growing connections between the jurisdiction and the Chinese market.
The new pages cover information about the Luxembourg investment fund sector, regulation and how the jurisdiction can assist Chinese asset managers to grow globally.
Brochures in Chinese (Mandarin) are also available on Luxembourg as a domicile, how to set up a Luxembourg fund, how to re-domicile a fund in Luxembourg, and the Alfi Risk Management guidelines.
Marc Saluzzi, chairman of Alfi (pictured), said the move reflected developments both in terms of the interest shown in Luxembourg by Chinese companies, but also the increasing interest in funds from Luxembourg in China.
He said that Luxembourg is already the location for the European headquarters of the Bank of China and ICBC, while China Construction Bank is setting up there too.
“Alfi visits China regularly to explain developments in the regulatory environment of investment funds in Europe. Expanding overseas appears to be a high short to medium-term priority for Chinese asset managers. In this context, it is obvious that Luxembourg, as Europe’s prime investment fund centre, will play an increasingly important role for the development of the Chinese asset management community’s international presence.”
