Alfi conference highlights need to adapt to regulation
Alfi, the association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, has opened its 2014 London Conference at the Guildhall with a speech by Luxembourgish minister of finance Pierre Gramegna.
The event, which was attended by 950 delegates across the fund industry, emphasised the relationship between London and Luxembourg as hub for the fund industry, as well as the latest developments in regulations.
In his opening speech, Marc Saluzzi, chairman of Alfi, highlighted Luxembourgs determination to adapt to the latest regulatory requirements.
With roughly two months until the deadline for the implementation of the AIFM Directive, Luxembourg has already received 200 applications, he stressed.
The remainder of the event will feature among others sessions on Ucits, hedge funds, private equity, real estate and responsible investing.
