Alger Sicav launches two new sub funds

Alger Sicav, a Luxembourg based Ucits vehicle has launched two new sub-funds, Alger Emerging Markets Fund and Alger Dynamic Opportunities Sub Fund, both are available for non-US investors with immediate effect.

Alger Emerging Markets Fund is managed by Deborah Vélez Medenica assisted by a team of analysts. The fund invests in emerging market equities based on bottom-up fundamental research, it currently has an AUM of more than $35mn. Vélez Medenica has managed Fred Alger Management, Inc.’s Alger Emerging Markets strategy since its inception in 2010, she has been a portfolio manager since 1999.

Alger Dynamic Opportunities Sub Fund is part of the existing Dynamic Opportunities fund and similarly a long / short hedged equity fund investing primarily in US-domiciled companies. It is also managed by Dan Cung and Patrick Kelly, who already manage the Dynamic Opportunities fund assisted by a team of 30 global investment analysts.

“These two new sub-funds enable the Alger SICAV to offer an even broader array of investment solutions to investors seeking to diversify their equity exposure across a variety of strategies. We continue to expand our footprint by launching these sub-funds, which we believe will have strong appeal,” said Dan Chung.
