Allianz Global Investors’ Europe arm extends to the Netherlands

Allianz Global Investors Investments Europe, the European investment platform of Allianz Global Investors, is expanding portfolio management into the Netherlands from tomorrow to run funds currently overseen by Allianz Netherlands Asset Management.

The strategies, encompassing  fixed income, equity and balanced programs, have €6bn assets, and are run out of Rotterdam.

The Dutch team responsible will be integrated into AllianzGI Investments Europe and contribute to its pan-European investment process, according to AGI Investments Europe.

Mark Reinalda, an equity portfolio manager in Rotterdam with 27 years’ experience, will co-head the Netherlands branch overseeing local portfolio management activities with Hedwig Peters, who takes responsibility for the Dutch fiduciary management business.

Giovanni Bagiotti, AllianzGI Investments Europe chief executive, said this was the third portfolio management team integrated into AllianzGI Investments Europe since last year.

Other teams in Zurich and Munich – Aequitas GmbH – have already been absorbed into AllianzGI Investments Europe, whose main hubs are in Paris and Milan.

AllianzGI Investments Europe has added €26bn assets since launching in May 2010, and its 110 investment professionals will manage or advise on a total €134bn for institutional and retail clients in Europe, after this latest development.

Recently, AllianzGI Investments Europe reported that the SRI assets it manages and advises on surpassed €10bn in the first quarter of 2011.
