Aquila Capital seeks business in Benelux and Scandinavia

Hamburg-based alternative investment company Aquila Capital has appointed Oldrik Verloop to lead business development in Benelux and Scandinavia.

Verloop joins Aquila Capital from Switzerland’s oldest bank, Wegelin & Co, where he developed and implemented a market entry strategy for the Benelux and Scandinavian institutional markets.

Roman Rosslenbroich, founder and chief executive of Aquila Capital, said Verloop’s “proven expertise and extensive experience in the Benelux and Scandinavian markets will support our international growth strategy as Aquila continues to expand in Europe and beyond.”

In October 2011 Aquila Capital opened a new office in Singapore led by Chum Yong Quah, wholesale director. This is Aquila’s first outfit in Asia set up to strengthen its presence throughout the region.

Aquila was originally set up in 2001 as an independent investment firm in the German-speaking part of Europe focusing on alternative and non-traditional investments. Today it manages over €3.4bn of assets under management for a growing international client base.
