BlackRock adds absolute return bond fund to Luxembourg Sicav range
BlackRock’s Luxembourg Sicav range has grown with the launch of its BSF Global Absolute Return Bond fund, which comes in response to investor demand for lower volatility returns.
The fund launch follows that of BlackRock’s UK unit trust, the BlackRock Absolute Return Bond fund, which launched in September 2011.
Manager of the Sicav will be Ian Winship, head of the company’s Sterling Fundamental Fixed Income team. The fund will seek to use ideas from BlackRock’s full global team of some 430 fixed income specialists.
All fixed income markets will be used go generate returns, including emerging markets, investment grade credit and high yield credit. Derivatives will be used.
Winship said: “The BSF Global Absolute Return Bond Fund is an ideal fund for investors looking for value and diversification in any market environment. The fund aims to provide highly diversified sources of return and lower correlation by leveraging the best ideas of BlackRock’s fixed income teams, across the entire spectrum of fixed income markets. The breadth of strategies available and the strength of the firm’s risk analytics and systems puts us in a unique position to deliver potential for absolute returns to our clients in less predictable economic and market conditions.”
