Dutch manager unveils EM responsible index equity fund

Dutch SRI-focused asset manager Actiam has launched its fifth responsible index equity fund for the retail market, the Actiam Verantwoord Index Aandelenfonds Opkomende Landen.

The index fund, which focuses on emerging markets, is being traded on Euronext Amsterdam. It covers 23 countries, including China and India, where the firm said economic growth is expected to be the highest.

John Shen, member of Actiam’s board, commented: “The success of the first four responsible index equity funds (€1.3bn inflows since launch in August 2015) made our decision to complete our current product offering with an emerging markets fund an easy one. We noticed a substantial demand in the market for investment products with a low expense ratio and responsible investment policies, but the offers are limited.”

Actiam had €54.6bn in assets under management as of 31 December 2016.
