Exclusive: Candriam hires sub debt fund manager

Thomas Madesclaire has joined Brussels-headquartered Candriam Investors Group as bond fund manager in June, InvestmentEurope can reveal.

A spokesperson at Candriam told InvestmentEurope that Madesclaire has joined the team of Philippe Dehoux, head of Corporate Bonds, to manage the Candriam Bonds Capital Securities fund, primarily invested in subordinated debt securities of financial and non-financial companies based in OECD countries.

It is understood he will also bring additional expertise on financial institutions and as such, is expected to contribute to the performance of the Candriam Bonds Euro Corporate fund.

Madesclaire has joined Candriam from AXA Investment Managers where he worked as senior buy-side credit analyst focusing on European banks during more than seven years.

Previously he held roles of equity and credit analysts at Groupama Asset Management with a focus on European banks and asset-backed securities. Madesclaire started his career as securitisation analyst at Credit Foncier in 2004.
