Finesti names Robert Scharfe as new chairman
Finesti, the Luxembourg agency for European funds information, has appointed Robert Scharfe chairman of the board.
He replaces Michel Maquil, who is retiring after spending 17 years with the company.
Scharfe was the president and CEO of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange from 2004 to date.
Finesti was created in 1995 as CCLux (Centrale de Communications Luxembourg S.A.), as a common initiative between the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and some thirty Luxembourg institutions active in the investment fund industry. It became a subsidiary of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange in May 2002. In January 2009, CCLux changed its name to Finesti.
The company collects about 27,500 net asset values daily, with its website providing access to information on some 40,500 share classes as well as more than 157,000 documents – including prospectuses, simplified prospectuses, KIIDs, financial reports and factsheets.
The company is also active in two major European projects: the European Fund Classification and the provision of Fund Processing Passports.
