ING Investment Management has now rebranded as NN Investment Partners (NN IP), which is part of NN Group.

The move follows last year’s restructuring of ING Investment Management in line with the conditions of the Dutch government bailout the group received in 2008. This involved among others the division between the banking and insurance / investment management activities.

Former ING IM participated in an IPO together with the insurance division of NN last year, leading to the eventual rebrand as NN IP.

Stan Beckers, CEO NN Investment Partners comments: “This is an exciting day for all of us at NN Investment Partners. The launch of our new brand is a fresh milestone in our journey to become the leading European-based provider of income generating solutions. As we move forward under our new name, we will continue to build on a heritage extending back 170 years.

NN IP, which currently manages €186bn, faces potential challenges as a result of the restructuring, as it lost ING Bank as distributor of its funds and the ING Pension fund as key customer.

But Hans Stoter (pictured), CIO at NN IP highlights the potential of the rebrand: “The name ‘NN Investment Partners’ underscores our belief that by partnering with our clients and working side by side with them, we can provide attractive and relevant solutions that meet their needs. NN Investment Partners is committed to providing the expertise and resources necessary to meet or exceed the investment objectives set with and on behalf of all clients. We are committed to helping our clients achieve their financial goals.”
