Kempen bolsters ESG efforts with hire

Dutch manager Kempen Capital Management has appointed Narina Mnatsakanian (pictured) as director Impact and Responsible Investment in order to strengthen its ESG policy.

Mnatsakanian will join the firm on 1 June 2017 and has over a decade of experience in responsible investment.

Among others, she worked for the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).

Most recently, Mnatsakanian was director Impact, ESG and Investor Relations at Sarona Asset Management.

She was responsible for Sarona’s business development and investor relations. In addition she was in charge of considering ESG issues in Sarona’s investments as well as looking at managing and measuring social an environmental impact of the investee funds and companies.

Formerly, she held various positions at MN, KPMG and Ernst & Young.

Lars Dijkstra, CIO of Kempen, said Mnatsakanian’s experience in impact investing will stimulate more Kempen’s teams and reputation as long-term responsible investor.
