NN IP, previously known as ING Investment Management, has announced that it will change the investment strategy of 15 regional and sector-specific funds within the Core Equity Boutique and the  Specialities Boutique in favour of a more actively managed approach.

According to a Morningstar report, the Dutch asset manager decided to alter its strategy for the funds due disappointing returns. Going forward, NN IP’s team of 25 analysts and quantitative researchers will have a stronger impact on the management of the funds in question.

As a result of the changes, Morningstar has placed all affected funds “under review”, the status will be reassessed once the changes have been fully implemented. Nevertheless, Morningstar welcomed the changes as “a step in the right direction.”
