Ogier expands global network into Luxembourg
Legal and fiduciary services firm Ogier is to open a boutique law firm in Luxembourg later this year as it continues to expand its worldwide network.
The business will focus on corporate and fund administration. Group chief executive officer Nick Kershaw said Ogier will be the first offshore firm to have an onshore legal presence in Luxembourg. The move is being driven by client demand for using Luxembourg funds, either stand-alone or as part of an offshore structure.
Ogier’s boutique will also introduce new business into Luxembourg from existing clients from other Ogier offices, notably in Asia and North America.
The office will open with two partners. Daniel Richards (pictured above), a Group partner in Ogier’s Jersey office who has taken a lead role in the initiative, will relocate to Luxembourg to work alongside François Pfister (pictured below). Richards, fluent in French, has extensive European investment funds and corporate experience.
Pfister, a senior partner of OPF Partners in Luxembourg, will head the legal practice, given his experience with investment funds, international taxation, mergers and acquisitions and corporate law.
