Optimism on equities peaks
Optimism on equities may soon reach a peak, argues the Asset Allocation Consensus report for June, published by Netherlands-based Alpha Research.
According to the survey, which is conducted monthly amongst more than 40 key asset managers, downward revisions have become more prominent that upward adjustments.
This includes assessments of US equities, which have changed from overweight to neutral, consumer discretionary, which changed from neutral to underweight and the energy sector, which also changed from neutral to underweight.
Nevertheless, equities remain the preferred asset class, with 84.2% of respondents indicating to go overweight, they are at an all-time high.
