Schroders and NEOS launch direct lending programme

British asset manager Schroders has teamed up with Rotterdam-based direct lender NEOS Business Finance in order to launch a €300m lending programme, which offers loans of up to €10m to SME businesses.

As part of the new cooperation, Schroders will be responsible for managing investments and risk management of the fund vehicle while NEOS will cover the assessment and issuance of loans in the Netherlands and abroad.

Quirijn Haak, CEO at NEOS comments: “The growth of NEOS cannot be understood separately of broader trends in the financing market, where entrepreneurs now look beyond the traditional channels in order to identify suitable funding options. This programme enables us to issue loans of up to €10m, giving us even more financial clout in the Dutch market.”

“At the same time, we now face growing investor interest in order to deliver attractive returns. Due to the cooperation with Schroders, a programme of €300m is now possible, allowing us to make a real difference in the Dutch market” he adds.
