bfinance bolsters private markets team

Investment consultant bfinance has appointed Niels Bodenheim as director of debt services in the private markets team.

Bodenheim will be responsible for the company’s debt research services, covering real estate debt, infrastructure debt, private corporate debt and direct lending.

He will support bfinance’s head of Private Markets, Peter Hobbs.

Bodenheim joins from GE Capital where he has worked for 14 years.

He was most recently executive director at Mubadala GE Capital, the commercial finance joint venture owned by the government of Abu Dhabi’s investment vehicle, Mubadala and General Electric.

Formerly, Bodenheim served as director in the GE Corporate Finance Bank and has held various roles at GE Healthcare Financial Services in the US and London.

Hobbs commented: ”Private debt is an area that has seen a significant rise in interest from institutions as they search for better returns and our team of consultants and specialists has been advising a broad range of both pension funds and insurance companies to help them achieve their investment goals.

“The pace of change in some sectors of private markets means that even the most sophisticated asset owners benefit from working with experts in these areas, and Niels contributes a wealth of experience in origination, underwriting, risk management and portfolio management processes that will drive our growing work in this sector.”
