BlackRock appoints head of iShares in Switzerland

Asset Manager BlackRock has appointed Ed Gordon as head of ETF and index investing for Switzerland. He will start his new role in November 2018.

Gordon succeeds Christian Gast, who left the firm in July to lead Systematic Investment Management AG (Simag), a Zurich-based asset manager.

Prior to joining Blackrock, Gordon has worked at UBS Israel. He was head of wealth management since 2014. He brings more than 20 years of professional experience to the role, having worked at UBS, Credit Suisse and Lombard Odier across portfolio management, wealth distribution and private equity in Zurich and New York

Since the acquisition of Credit Suisse’s ETF arm in 2013, Blackrock has continuously expanded its iShares Swiss platform.
