Caixabank digitises fund operations

Caixabank has become the first Spanish financial institution in implementing electronic signatures in all its fund contracts.

Thus, the Spanish asset manager’s operations will be formalized exclusively by electronic signature, Caixabank said.

Digital operations will be conducted through SmartPC terminals of the managers or through mobile banking and online banking services of the bank.

According to Caixabank CEO Gonzalo Gortázar the implementation of electronic signature is an example of innovation “with immediate benefits”. Caixabank said the electronic signature enhances the quality of customer services, while simplifying the sales structure and reducing the environmental impact by saving paper.

Currently, more than 84% of Caixabank’s contracts are signed digitally.

CaixaBank Asset Management had assets of €39.7bn as at July 2016.  The asset manger attracted €1.07bn in net inflows in July, according to data from Spanish industry body Inverco.

Net inflows in July reversed outflows of €610m in the first half of 2016, and the asset manager of the Spanish bank racks up now €466.3m of inflows throughout the year.
