Jefferies adds to European equity capital mkts leadership team
Jefferies has appointed Reinout Koopmans (pictured) as a managing director and co-head of European equity capital markets within the firm’s investment banking division.
He will partner with David Weaver, head of European capital markets and president of Jefferies International, in leading the firm’s European equity capital markets business.
“The addition of Reinout Koopmans is an important next step in expanding our origination of European equity and equity-linked underwritings,” said Benjamin D. Lorello, global head of investment banking and capital markets at Jefferies. Reinout brings extensive equity experience in Russia and eastern Europe as well in the mining sector, Lorello said, “all of which are additive to our European investment banking business.”
Koopmans has more than 16 years’ experience in the industry. He joins from Deutsche Bank in London, where he spent 10 years and was most recently a managing director and head of equity capital markets for the natural resources sector and previously head of equity capital markets for emerging markets. Prior to that, he worked for six years at McKinsey & Company in Germany and Asia.
